Spider Vein and Varicose Vein Treatments

Vein Treatments
Sclerotherapy is an effective, non-invasive treatment for spider veins. It is performed by a dermatologist or a surgeon and usually lasts between 15 and 30 minutes. A salt solution is injected into the affected veins. The number of veins injected in one session varies, and depends on the size and location of the veins, as well as the medical condition of the patient. A thin needle is used and the solution injected is so mild that pain is usually minimal. The physician will determine when the patient should return for the next series of injections.
After the sclerotherapy procedure, activity will not be significantly
limited. Walking is encouraged. The physician will recommend how long prolonged
sitting/ standing, squatting, heavy weight lifting and jogging should be avoided.
The difference in appearance between a treated leg and an untreated leg is usually
dramatic!
